Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a minimally invasive technique of remodeling skin with little to no downtime. We use a device to create micro-needle punctures into the dermis. By doing so, the skin’s natural defense allows it to create new collagen cells by stimulating growth and healing factors. This results in a quick healing time with generally excellent results.
Microneedling can be used to treat a wide variety of skin concerns such as acne scars, lines, skin laxity, texture and tone, photo damage, and other skin imperfections. Microneedling is a great rejuvenation treatment for the face but is also very effective on the body. Since it is not a laser, it can be performed on all skin types safely and effectively, even during the summer time.
There are very few side effects associated with Microneedling, but immediately after the treatment redness and occasional pinpoint bleeding may occur. This is usually gone within a day or two, and some dehydration may last few a few days while the old cells shed to reveal new healthy glowing cells.
Microneedling visibly improves the appearance of:
- Acne Scars or other Scars
- Stretch Marks
- Enlarged Pores
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Loose Skin
Treatment can be completed in about 20 minutes.
It’s recommended for aged and sun damaged skin should be treated in a series of 4-6 sessions in intervals of 2 to 4 weeks. A follow-up session or a series of treatment is recommended after 9 to 12 months, depending on the skins condition.
